Highlights
Fernando, Chad, Jeff, Kevin, Todd, and Mike made it down Hells Gate successfully; Curtis was denied going down because of equipment / set-up issues (ie…soft springs and tire rubbing on fender and boulder bars), and Chad needed help up because of shattered slip yoke on front drive shaft. Fernando, Keith, Aaron, Jeff, Kevin, Darrell, Curtis, Todd, and Travis made it up tip over challenge. Chad didn't attempt because of prior breakage, Norm backed down after breaking the front passenger CV joint. We had the debut performance of the IART (Isuzu Anti Roll Team), on The Narrows when Curtis got TIPPAAAYYY!!!!! He took a high line and the soft springs forced him into the wall. The roof rack caught him, and the IATR went into action averting the 1degree from FLIPPAAAYYY!!! They were deployed for several others on this section of the trail. The sun set as we were finishing The Narrows, so we were all in the dark to complete the trial.

We started out the day with six trucks, but about a half hour into Poison Spider Curtis blew the rear ring and pinion, while attempting a waterfall climb prior to The Wedge. Dallas then became a passenger with Fernando, while Kevin and Joe went back to the trailhead with Curtis to drop the truck off. Fernando, Todd, and Tia successfully navigated The Wedge and the rest of the Poison Spider Trail. At the top of Launch pad Keith took over and we all made it through without any difficulty. We continued on to Zuki hill, on Golden Spike where we had lunch and waited for Joe and Kevin to catch us. Curtis was now riding with Joe. Joe and Curtis when attempting the Launch pad could not get up the other side, so Kevin had to get around them and pull them up. This is because Joe was only 3wheel drive due to prior breakage. We went on to The Million Dollar Mile. Everyone made it across the Golden Crack, up the Golden Stairs, and Golden Wall, without need of assistance. Joe needed rescue from the Body Snatcher, so Kevin went back to lend a hand with a strap. He was halfway down a hefty set of ledges and backed up very nicely. On the way down some ledges almost to Gold Bar Rim, Joe's front passenger brake line broke, causing him to "pull a Tia". (Crashing down ledges without brakes) He steered himself into a rock almost rolling, to avoiding crashing into the back of Kevin. We changed the brake line on the spot, and trudged ahead. Surprisingly we made it down to the highway before dark.

Since we didn't really know where the trail was it took a while to find the trail head, we wound around a few roads before actually getting there. During this adventure it was discovered that Keith's bumper was melting. The repair from the Golden Crack had an unwanted and unexpected side effect. Corbin & Deanna, Jim, Peter & Lori, Erik & Dani, and Fernando began the day on Lower Helldorado, after parking Keith at the bottom. The trail rocked. Everyone did a great job. We had to pull out the winch cable only once when the long wheelbase of Erik's Taco got him hung up on a huge boulder. There were boulders as big as small cars strewn throughout the ravine, with ledges that were hood height. It was amazing to see all of the vehicles walk through with ease.
